IMA chapters abroad are created through local organization of World Fellowship members on a national basis. Each chapter elects a chairperson that represents the chapter members vis-à-vis the IMA and in all formal activities.
Chapter responsibilities include maintaining contact with the World Fellowship, publishing and promoting information about activities in the Israeli medical system and the IMA, as well as events in their respective chapters, collecting membership dues, executing joint projects and hosting Israeli physicians and other IMA World Fellowship members from around the globe (for social or professional purposes).
Each chapter also conducts varied local activities for the benefit of the community.
There are currently 17 active World Fellowship chapters in the following countries: Argentina, Austria, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Denmark, France, Germany, Holland, Italy, New Zealand, Switzerland, Turkey, UK and the USA.
In addition to or instead of chapter membership, any physician or medical student abroad is entitled to be an individual international member of the IMA, maintaining direct contact with the Israeli WF, particularly in cases where no established chapter exists in his/her vicinity.
