Congratulations to Prof. Benjamin Dekel on winning a grant from the Israeli Innovation Authority's Organoid Consortium. This is a groundbreaking initiative of the Israeli biomedical ecosystem and part of the country's bio-convergence activities. The goal of the Consortium is to develop three-dimensional cell cultures for the study of diseases and the discovery of treatments. Prof. Dekel's project was selected for funding after a long process by the Innovation Authority. The consortium includes commercial companies as well as outstanding academic entities, including Sheba Hospital.

Helmsley is awarding $1.3 million for a study to be conducted over two years by the Shaare Zedek Medical Center (SZMC), a nonprofit independent healthcare organization in Israel that provides patient care, educates doctors and health professionals, and conducts a variety of research projects. The project is led by Dr. Dan Turner, Head of the Juliet Kiedan Institute of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition at SZMC.
