32. The Executive Committee shall be composed of 27 members, as follows: the Chairman of the IMA-WF who will serve as chairman of the Executive Committee as well as president of the Central Board, plus 26 additional members, among them13 Israelis, who shall be elected at the IMA national convention, and 13 non-Israelis, who shall represent the following regions, and shall be elected by delegates from the region which they represent:
· US-3 members
· Canada-1 member
· Latin America-1 member
· Europe-3 members
· Australia, New Zealand, South Africa-1 member
· FSU (Former Soviet Union) -1 member
· Smaller countries (by rotation)-3 members, one of who shall represent the European region and one from the Latin American region.
“Smaller countries” shall be defined as countries with a membership of less than 100.
33. The World Assembly can elect to change the proportions stated in paragraph 32 in the event that a certain region increases or decreases in membership size.
If the elected representative of the chapter is unable to come to the World Assembly the Board of the chapter is entitled to send a replacement.
34. The Executive Committee shall convene at least once a year in Israel, unless decided otherwise by the Chairman.
35. The Executive Committee shall be responsible for decisions taken between meetings of the World Assembly. In addition, they shall serve other functions within the IMA-WF, including, but not limited to:
a. Publicity of local and IMA newsletters.
b. Promoting the purposes and goals of the IMA-WF abroad and providing information about Israel, Israeli medicine and the IMA and WF.
c. Organization of programs for hosting foreign doctors in Israel in a variety of frameworks.
d. Organization of regional and international conventions of the IMA-WF.
e. Publicity for IMA-WF.
36. Each member of the Executive Committee may appoint a delegate who shall substitute for him in the event he is not able to be present at the World Assembly. Such substitute delegate shall be entitled to vote on behalf of the absent delegate. Such a delegate must be approved by the chairman of the country / region he represents.
