This year 18 scholarships were awarded to outstanding Israeli physicians who are doing fellowship programs around the world. The scholarships, in the amount of 16,000 NIS each, were raised from the Israeli Medical Association, the Organization of Clalit physicians, the Organization of State Employee Physicians, Kaplan Medical Center, Rambam Medical Center, Sheba Medical Center, the Sheba Medical Center Physicians’ Committee, and an individual donation from Canada.
The members of the scholarship selection committee were Dr. Zeev Feldman, Dr. Esther Barchilon, Dr. Elad Goldberg and Dr. Ehud Miron.
A ceremony was held at the IMA offices in June and the doctors were presented with their awards. The scholarships were given in memory of physicians who have passed away. Each of the memorialized physicians was dedicated to medicine and to his or her patients, both in Israel and around the world. Their families joined the ceremony to honor their memories.
