Section 22

With respect to sub-section A and B we maintain that in the case of a transplant in a minor or an incapacitated individual it is prohibited to perform any procedure before appointing a guardian for the minor or incapacitated individual. Organ transplants and the need for transplants are not analogous to simple medical procedures such as casting a broken leg, performing an x-ray or a doctor’s examination. In any case in which there arises a need for a transplant the natural, legal guardian should be contacted or appointed immediately.

Furthermore, we would like the committee to note that the doctor must transfer the relevant form to two coordinators, the National Transplant Center and the transplanting medical center.
