    List of recommended texts

    Update on textbooks for the Medical Internship and Physician Licensing Exams

    Psychiatry:
    Kaplan & Sadock’s Synopsis of Psychiatry, 11th edition*

    Internal Medicine:
    Harrison, 20th edition*

    Surgery:
    Sabiton, 20th edition*

    Starting from the next exam (not the upcoming one), the exam booklet will be updated to SABISTON 21 (from March 24, 2021).

    Pediatrics:
    21th edition of Nelson Textbook of Pediatrics (the big one). By Kliegman, Stanton, St. Geme, Schor & Behrman.

    Obstetrics & Gynecology:

    Lange, Current Diagnosis & Treatment, Obstetrics & Gynecology. Ed. DeCherney, Nathan, Goodwin, Laufer. 11th edition*

    Starting from the next exam (after the June exam), the exam booklet in gynecology will be updated to Lange 12th (from March 22, 2021).

    All the chapters except those dealing with the healthy infant (Chapter 11), resuscitation of infants (Chapter 13) and the breast (Chapter 63).

    * The textbooks noted above are required study for the exam, based on the most recent edition, provided that it was published at least 9 months prior to the date of the exam.

    Any update concerning a new edition of a textbook will be brought to the attention of the examinees via the Exam Committee website during registration.
