Instructions for the exam

These guidelines are binding for all examinees. Please read them carefully and act accordingly.

 

 

Preparing for the exam:

  • Check that you’ve received an email invitation for the exam that includes your personal information, along with the place and time of the exam.
  • Have the exam invitation ready to present on the day of the exam.

 

Structure of the exam:

  • The exam will be conducted on a computer.
  • The answers should be entered on the computer only! An answer that is not entered via the computer at the time of the exam will not be counted as a correct answer.
  • Here is a link to a sample exam that demonstrates the way the exam is conducted and the way answers are entered.

Arrangements on exam day:

  • Entry to the exam site and exam room will only be permitted upon presentation of a valid invitation.
  • You should arrive at the hour specified in the invitation. Any tardiness will significantly delay the start of the exam or even its cancellation.
  • Tardiness will be at the expense of the examinee and no extra time will be granted.
  • Entry will no longer be permitted once 30 minutes have elapsed since the start of the exam.
  • Each examinee must come to the exam with a current ID card/passport/license with an up-to-date photo. The name on the identifying document must be identical to the name on the exam invitation.
  • The exam site (the entire Tel Aviv Expo site) is off-limits to everyone except for examinees.
  • There are no waiting facilities for people who may accompany you and they will not permitted to enter the exam site (the entire Tel Aviv Expo site).

 

Entering the exam rooms:

  • At the entrance to each exam room, each examinee will be identified according to their identifying document and will be given an ID bracelet to wear.
  • It is mandatory to wear the bracelet! An examinee who fails to wear a bracelet will be expelled from the exam site and will not be permitted to take the exam.
  • A security check will be conducted each time an examinee enters the exam room. Religious head coverings are subject to visual inspection.
  • No equipment may be brought into the exam room, including any type of digital and electronic device (smart watch, mobile phone, BT earphones, smart glasses, smart pens, etc.).
  • It is only permitted to use simple noise-filtering earplugs that have no technological connection. The earplugs should be presented at the time of the security check.
  • It is permitted to use a dictionary/electronic dictionary only after it is checked and approved by the exam organizers.
  • It is prohibited to bring any writing instruments, pencil cases, markers or other writing equipment into the exam room. A pen for writing notes will be on the table for use during the exam.
  • All personal items, including bags, wallets and cellular devices must be stored in the designated storage areas outside of the exam rooms.
  • No access to personal items will be allowed after they are deposited and during the exam. Make sure you have everything you need, including warm clothing, before entering the exam room.
  • We highly recommend that you do not bring personal items to the exam site. There is no storage at the site!
  • No bags will be allowed at the exam site.
  • You should not get up during the exam without permission from the exam organizers.

 

 

Permitted:

  • You are allowed to bring a water bottle into the exam room, as well as food – in a transparent container only!
  • An identifying document
  • Keys

 

Bathroom breaks during the exam:

  • Entry to the exam room requires an ID check and a security check.
  • Bathroom breaks are at the expense of exam time.
  • Bathroom breaks will be allowed from 30 minutes after the start of the exam until about 30 minutes prior to its conclusion.
  • You should raise your hand and wait for permission from the exam monitor.
  • A monitor will accompany the examinee to and from the bathroom.
  • Multiple examinees will not be allowed to leave the room at the same time.
  • You may not speak with anyone during a bathroom break.

 

Each of the following will be considered a breach of exam integrity: 

  • Use of reference material of any type.
  • Verbal or non-verbal communication with another examinee in order to lend or receive assistance.
  • Physically removing exam materials by copying or photographing.
  • Use of electronic and other aids during the exam.
  • Use or solicitation via a social network and/or media and communication forums.
  • Use of a bathroom break to receive/convey information.
  • The presence of any equipment, including digital and electronic devices of any type (smart watch, mobile phone, BT earphones, smart glasses, smart pens, etc.).
  • Refusal to complete the exam on time.
  • Disturbing the proper administration of the exam or failing to comply with the instructions of the examiners.

 

An examinee who breaches exam discipline as stipulated will have his or her exam disqualified on the spot!

Please note: A breach of exam discipline may disqualify you from future exams and/or affect your chance of receiving permission for an internship/license to practice medicine.

 

Ministry of Health guidelines for conducting an exam in the shadow of the coronavirus pandemic

  • The exam is conducted in accordance with the Ministry of Health’s Green Pass guidelines.
  • Each examinee will be required to present a Green Pass at the entrance to the exam site (vaccination or recovery certificate), or confirmation of a rapid coronavirus test (antigen) conducted 24 hours prior to the test. Presentation of a PCR test conducted at a Kupat Holim (HMO) will not be accepted.
  • A mask that covers the nose and mouth must be worn throughout the exam and at every exam site.

 

An examinee who does not comply with these guidelines will be expelled from the exam site and will not be permitted to take the exam.
