Applying for a License

Anyone wishing to practice medicine in the State of Israel must obtain a license from the Ministry of Health. 

Ready to apply for a license?

Here’s the process: 

1. File an application at one of the District Health Offices in Israel by post and submit the required documents to the Medical Professions Licensing Department of the Ministry of Health. 

2. The application will be reviewed by the Division of Medical Professions in the Ministry of Health where the application is reviewed.
3. If you meet the requirements, you will be entitled to receive a temporary license to practice medicine in Israel, issued by the Division of Medical Professions.

On average, the licensing process takes 6 weeks.
 

The process of obtaining a license to practice medicine is different for two groups of medical graduates:

• Receipt of a medical license for foreign graduates who have worked in the profession
• Receipt of a license to practice medicine in Israel for foreign doctors who have been qualified for least 14 years
