IMA position on the treatment of wounded Gazans

In response to recent statements made by the Minister of Health, the IMA wishes to emphasize its position on the issue of medical treatment for Gazan civilians and/or terrorists.

Israeli physicians treat people whomever they are and regardless of their actions, simply by virtue of their being human beings. Israeli doctors are committed to international conventions, the rules of medical ethics and the Declaration of Geneva.

Gazan civilians continue to be treated in Israeli hospitals as needed, and our doctors will continue to treat them, in accordance with security clearance.

Despite the barbaric and horrific acts of the Hamas terrorists, doctors will provide the necessary treatment in hospitals, the prison services or the army according to medical necessity only.
