IMA Ethical Code
Developed on the basis of the ancient Hippocratic Oath along with others in the practice of medicine, the Israeli Medical Association’s Ethical Code covers the fundamental values of ethics in medicine and the physician’s obligations; it then delves into the physician’s relationships with patients, society, the legal system, the media, medical institutions and more. The IMA Ethical Code addresses both general medical ethics and topics and issues that are particular to Israel. The document is prepared by the members of IMA’s committee for writing the rules of medical ethics and is updated every few years to incorporate new developments and changes in the medical practice and the world.
